Roulette Bets

Learning the different types of roulette bets is crucial to becoming a winning roulette player. One of the most enjoyable parts of playing roulette is the wide variety of bets. Unlike other common casino table games such as blackjack, roulette offers you a plethora of bet options. The large variety of roulette bets can often make the game intimidating at first glance. However, most roulette bets are very simple once you understand how they work.

The two major classifications of roulette bets are inside bets and outside bets. When placing roulette bets, players are generally allowed to bet any amount as long as the total bets made in both the inside area and outside area of the table meets the table bet minimum and doesn't exceed the table bet maximum. For example, a player could place 5 seperate $1 inside bets on a $5 minimum bet table. Each bet doesn't have to meet the table bet minimum, just the total amount bet in each area.

Roulette Inside Bets

The first major type of roulette bets are called inside bets. Roulette inside bets are made up of specific numbers or combinations of numbers on the inner part of the roulette table. The following list provides detailed information for each type of inside bet.

Roulette Outside Bets

The second major type of roulette bets are called outside bets. Roulette outside bets are all bets that are placed on the outside area of the roulette table. There are no winning outside bets for the 0 and 00 slots. The following list explains each type of outside bet in detail.

Roulette Even Money Bets

Another major classification of roulette bets are even money bets. These are roulette bets where the player is paid even money on his bet, 1:1. If you wager $5, you will be paid $5 if you win, in addition to getting your actual bet back. The even money bets in roulette are all outside bets and they include Red/Black bets, Even/Odd bets, and Low/High bets.
